The jingler style of fly is a common river fly for the Clyde and Tweed. The principle is quite a simple one, a soft hackle for movement over a rooster hackle for buoyancy. This version is tied as an emerger pattern for still waters, similar to a Bristol Hopper, but with the soft hackle providing the movement, or possibly the legs of the hopper.
